Millwood Hospital (a UHS affiliated hospital) is a 134-bed mental health facility that provides inpatient and outpatient mental health and chemical dependency treatment. Millwood’s caring, and multidisciplinary staff has successfully provided inpatient and outpatient mental health and chemical dependency care to children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults since 1971. Millwood Hospital is located in Arlington, TX in the heart of the city.  It is 5 minutes away from AT&T Stadium home of the Dallas Cowboys. POSITION SUMMARY .

The Patient Transporter (Van Driver) is responsible for the daily transportation of patients to and from the Excel Center (Outpatient Clinic for Millwood Hospital).  The transporter is also responsible for behavioral management of patients while in route and for reporting to their appropriate supervisor regarding any behavioral or safety issues.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Valid Driver License
  • Clean Driving Record (Verifiable)
  • One (1) year working with children and/or adolescents preferred
  • Experience driving passenger van preferred (up to 15 passengers)
  • Basic mechanical knowledge preferred
  • Ability to pass initial and periodic drug screening
  • Ability to pass background check

Experience :  Previous experience working with mental health population of all ages preferred. Must have minimum of one year of experience driving a van type vehicle.

Additional Requirements: Must have a current Texas driver’s license and have a clear driving record. CPI and CPR per New Hire policy must be completed prior to providing direct care services. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
